The Reason I Write Sad Songs

You couldn’t be here with me

I guess that’s my fault

I somehow pushed you far away

Now all I do is sing these sad songs

It’s like I wish I knew a way

To undo all my early wrongs

If there could be a better day

Then maybe just maybe

We could’ve lasted long

I know I hurt you

Sometimes I wish I didn’t

But honestly if time was able

To go back

I’d go back to the time I did it

We are victims of the future

We do not know

How was I supposed to know

That someday you’d leave

You’d go

So now all I do now is sing

These sad songs

Hoping one day you’d

Come back from being gone
