Being a Mom

Being a mom means no sick days

No days off period

When a baby cries it’s a mom’s job

Being a mom means

Smile even when you want to cry

Why?

Because children are looking up to you

Being a mom means PPD isn’t real

Everyone depends on you even when your

Mentality is declining

Being a mom means loving your kids no matter what

It’s hard enough to deal with the family you’d rather not

But now you are stuck with the very person

That drains you emotionally, physically and mentally

Being a mom means times are hard

No one believes you except other moms

Being a mom has positive times too

But everyone talks about those

These are just some of the reasons we should be celebrated

Being a mom is a job not for the faint of heart

Being a mom is a JOB

One you didn’t technically apply for and one

You don’t have any experience

A job with no breaks and no vacation days

No paid overtime

No raises

Not many praises

Except one day a year

Everyone turns to you and says thanks!

So if you are blessed to have your mom in your life

Give her a hug for me

Today and tomorrow and possibly randomly next week

Give her a break if you can

Show her you love her

Because the woman that endured painful days

Painful nights

Held back tears for you

Kissed your boo boos

Wiped your butt

Helped you become the man or woman you are today

Let her know she means more than one day a year

Make her smile from ear to ear

Cuz one day she won’t be here

So mom if you’re reading this

There isn’t much that I can do to repay you

Other than

Say how much I love you
