Damsel in Distress

There he stands in gold plated armor

I’m the damsel in distress

But should I trust again

My heart’s been ripped out of my chest

Falling for even one more love

Might finally turn my fruit bitter

But there he is

Like a white dove

I’m not sure if I’m smitten

I barely know him at all

He could be a beast disguised as a prince

And it’s past midnight at the ball

I’m so good at running away

But maybe I should stay this time
