To Trust or Not to Trust

Finding it hard to open up again

Afraid to be hurt

Afraid to lose a friend

My soul might retreat

And I gotta go through the process

Of searching for it again

Are you somebody?

Somebody I can trust?

If I show you my scars

Will you run away?

Or will you say yuck?

I will be brave

And let you see

The most vulnerable parts of me

And if I find out you aren’t a friend
