Heart Attack

When did my love fall on deaf ears 

When did our love detach

I told you I loved you 

You told me back 

So why all of a sudden 

The heart attack 

You want war? 

Is this where we’re at? 

Why in the world would you send a heart attack? 

I bring you gifts 

Lay my head on you lap 

Look in my eyes 

You’ll see love shining back 

But somewhere along the line 

You lost faith 

You stopped responding back 

That’s when my heart felt the attack 

Now there is nothing left 

No burning desire 

Just dust that’s settled 

From the angry fire 

I tried to reach out 

Extinguish the flames 

But my love was gone 

With it 

Your name 

The last thing I did 

Before all was erased 

Was send a flower 

Concealed in a case 

On it a note 

In all black 

A poem I wrote
